There are two things that you must take into consideration.
1. Whoever is chosen first is at a huge disadvantage
2. Score creep (scores increase throughout the night as judges loosen)

RULES
Both these problems are addressed in THE MASTERS slam, as there is NO SCORING 0 to 10 and NO RANDOM ORDER.

A poet must only beat the person in front of them.

A name is chosen from a hat that poet picks who they would like to slam against.

The poet that’s picked goes first followed immediately by the poet who chose them the judges select the poet they like best winner stays loser goes home. This continues until there is one poet left.

Each poet has exactly three minutes 10 seconds. If you go over by even one second you are disqualified since there is no scoring there can be no score penalty.

Once a poet wins a round they are safe for the next round meaning they can’t be chosen to slam two times in a row.

The number of poems you will have to do depends on how many times you are chosen.

In the last round a coin is flipped the winner of the coin toss gets to choose who goes first in the finals.

All poets must be on stage while a selection is being made. If you leave stage for any reason during a selection you are disqualified.

THE MASTERS will eliminate half of the contestants on Friday night, and on Saturday will slam until there is a winner.

There are four judges picked randomly from the crowd and must be approved by all poets, in the case of a tie the crowd picks a winner.
